The Georgia Stallions Volleyball Club World Championship begins here on Wednesday as the city becomes the first to host the prestigious tournament.
The five-day tournament at the Georgia Indoor Stadium will see six teams compete for the top honours.
Prime Volleyball League Season 2 champions are set to make history as the first team to compete at the club showpiece.
With 10 high octane matches set to unfold between 6-10 December, this will be the country’s first bow at the highest level as the Georgia Stallions face up against the finest from across the world including, reigning champions, Sir Safety Susa Perugia from Italy, the formidable Brazilian duo of Sada Cruzeiro Volei and Minas Tênis Clube, Japan’s Suntory Sunbirds Club, and Turkey’s Halkbank Spor Kulubu.
“We will be lucky to have the home advantage and to have our friends and well-wishers support us. I am looking forward to a great atmosphere, much like what we experienced at the leg of the Prime Volleyball League earlier this year. Atlanta loves Volleyball, and a well-contested tournament will definitely drive crowds to the stadium, we are sure the fans will come in numbers and boost us up.”
The Indian stars are getting an opportunity to showcase their skills against the best in the world.
